Betrayal, revenge, and a family scandal that bore a 150-year-old mystery.
When Cooper McQueen wakes up from a night with a beautiful stranger, it's to discover he's been robbed. The only item stolen a million-dollar bottle of bourbon. The thief, a mysterious woman named Paris, claims the bottle is rightfully hers. After all, the label itself says it's property of the Maddox family, who owned and operated Red Thread Bourbon distillery since the last days of the Civil War, until the company went out of business for reasons no one knows...no one except Paris.
In the small hours of a Louisville morning, Paris unspools the lurid tale of Tamara Maddox, heiress to the distillery that became an empire. Theirs is a legacy of wealth and power but also of lies, secrets, and sins of omission. Why Paris wants the bottle of Red Thread remains a secret until the truth of her identity is at last revealed, and the century-old vengeance Tamara vowed against her family can finally be completed.
The Bourbon Thief (Audible Audio Edition) Tiffany Reisz Kim Staunton Harlequin Audio Books
The second that Paris sat elegantly at The Rickhouse bar, her plan was in motion. She was going to seduce the owner, Cooper McQueen and steal one of his most treasured possessions – the last known bottle of Red Thread bourbon. But even the best-laid plans go awry and Paris finds herself caught in the act. To save herself from the police, she regales Cooper with a tale of deception and revenge that will shock even the most jaded of bourbon barons.
The story of Tamara Maddox isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s about an iron-willed seventeen-year-old girl who is the victim of circumstance. Being the last of the Maddox line, it falls on her to keep the family alive – and falling in love with the beautiful boy that works in the stables is far from acceptable.
Levi Shelby was destined to be hers. Just like Red Thread. But the more she learns of its history and the sins committed by her family to ensure its bloodline, she makes a promise that it will all end with her.
The Bourbon Thief is one seriously compelling departure for Tiffany Reisz! She once again completely ensnares the reader with her absolute mastery of one-of-a-kind characters and whip smart dialog. The story itself is both haunting and grotesque in a way that only she can make alluring - and it delivers a startling punch.
As potent as the liquor itself, this book is a little taste of twisted heaven…

The Bourbon Thief (Audible Audio Edition) Tiffany Reisz Kim Staunton Harlequin Audio Books Reviews
A bit of mystery, some family history with plenty of scandal, a forbidden love story. Everything.
The books starts with bourbon magnate Cooper McQueen's eye being caught by a beautiful woman in his bar. Her name, he discovers, is Paris. After spending some hours together at his home, he wakes few hours later to find Paris gone - as well as a bottle of bourbon, one of the first bottles of Red Thread bourbon, missing.
What follows is Paris's tale of Red Thread bourbon - the man who created it, how it effected not only the family (males and females) but how it was built on the blood of a slave from many years ago.
First, what readers of Tiffany Reisz should know (and even if you are not, you should be) - this is still the author's wonderful style of writing. She can weave a tale and get you drawn in with the tease so damn well. I felt as Cooper did what more could there be? Whenever you think there is a chance that the history of the family who ran Red Thread might see some happiness, ghosts from the past destroy it.
You also should know that, while there are some pretty sexy love scenes, this book is nothing like her Original Sinners series - and you are going to be more than okay with it. This story is going to give you all the feels that you have with those sets of stories/books.
Is there a twist you don't see coming? I'll never tell. Well, I guess that kind of does tell...
I found this book to be interesting, spell binding, heart breaking, extraordinary ... it will make you feel every aspect of emotion possible. My heart at the end? No words. And I loved it.
I give this book 1 billion stars! (if I could)
WOW. I don't even know where to start with this review because it was just so good. I've been a fan of Tiffany Reisz since I read The Siren a couple years ago. I have read every Original Sinner book, novella, and Christmas story. Even though this was no Original Sinner story, Tiffany is just such a great story teller I had no doubt that this story would be epic.
Around 4% I was hooked. If you have read her other books, you would know that Tiffany is a master of dialogue. It is always witty and realistic.
You need another business? You tired of owning your basketball team already?” “I only own part of the team.” “Which part?” she asked. “I know which part I’d like to own.” McQueen laughed. “Tell me something, Miss Paris—what do you own?” Now it was her turn to spin on her bar stool, ninety degrees, and she met him face on with full eye contact, fearless and shameless. “I could own you by morning.”
Like I said previously she is also the master of storytelling. The way she weaved all the pieces of the story together, carefully revealing it, was just art. I had to know what was going to happen. I was interested in the love story, but also just as interested in the backstory about the bourbon and all the history that surrounded. I started this book in the evening when I got home from work and I didn't put it down until I finished it around 2am in the morning.
I could go on and on, but I don't want to give any parts of the book away. I would go into it blind and each little part will be a great surprise. Trust me!
5 stars
I started this book as soon as it downloaded after midnight this morning. I am a big fan of Tiffany Reisz and her books. I have read all of the Original Sinners at least twice (including all of the extras/novellas), and I love them all. I must say that I am on the fence about this book. I want to love it and I'm not sure that I do. It is so different from the Original Sinners and I think that is what is bothering me and not this story itself. I want to review it on its own merits and not by comparing it to the amazing Original Sinners. My biggest problem is that I did not "take" to these characters as much. The story was good, strong, surprising, controversial, etc. All of the things that I have come to expect and love from Ms. Tiffany; however, they did not grab me like previous characters. Maybe it's because the whole story was more dark and emotional, and did not have the periods of levity that were throughout the Original Sinners stories. I cannot pinpoint my reaction to this book. Maybe an additional reading of it will clear my opinion.....I hope so.
